Real job photos

Man and Van Hire in real moving conditions

Photos from the JF Man and Van Ltd Google profile show the van, loading setup and practical furniture handling customers can expect when booking this service.

Choose the crew you actually need

Every van option includes the driver helping with loading and unloading. You can keep the included one-man service or add one or two helpers at £15 per helper per hour when furniture is heavy, access is difficult or the move needs to be completed faster.

Medium, large and Luton vans

The medium van is aimed at room moves and several items, the large van at bulkier flat moves, and the Luton van at fuller flat, house and larger jobs. Capacity depends on the shape and size of the items, so use an item list, measurements or photos rather than guessing from the property name alone.

How the live estimate is calculated

The calculator combines the selected hourly van and labour rate with the estimated booking time, access charges where applicable and route mileage. The first five route miles are included, then mileage is charged at 75p per mile. Every booking has a two-hour minimum.

Multiple pickups and drop-offs

You can add extra collection and delivery addresses. Include every stop in the correct order so the route, timing and mileage are based on the job you actually need rather than only the first and final address.

Access details that matter

Property type, floors, stairs, lift availability, parking distance, loading bays and furniture that needs dismantling can all affect the work. Accurate information makes the estimate more useful and reduces surprises on moving day.

How booking works

Start by sending the collection postcode, delivery postcode, preferred moving date and a clear list of what needs moving. Include the property type, floor level, lift details, parking distance and any timing restrictions at either address. If there are bulky or fragile items, photos or a short WhatsApp video can make the job easier to assess before a quote is confirmed.

Access, parking and timing

Access details are important for every moving service because they affect loading time and the number of movers needed. Stairs, narrow hallways, restricted parking, long walks from the van, loading bays and lift bookings should be mentioned early. Clear information helps avoid delays on moving day and keeps the quote based on the real work involved.

Who this service suits

This service is suitable for customers who want practical moving help without a large removals-company process. It can work for smaller jobs, part loads, full property moves, furniture deliveries, storage transfers and planned long-distance routes. The right option depends on the item volume, access and journey distance.

FAQs

Man and Van Hire FAQs

How is the hourly rate worked out?

The van price includes the driver. Each additional helper adds £15 per hour, while booking time, mileage and access details determine the full estimate.

What is the minimum booking?

All bookings have a two-hour minimum, which the live quote applies automatically.

Are the first five miles charged?

No. The first five route miles are included, then the calculator adds 75p for each additional mile.

Can I add more than one pickup or drop-off?

Yes. Add each address in order so it is included in the calculated route.

Does the driver help with lifting?

Yes. The driver is the first member of the moving crew and helps with loading and unloading.

Which van should I choose?

Use the on-page guidance as a starting point, then send an item list or photos if you are uncertain. Large or awkward items can change what fits.

How do stair charges work?

The live quote uses the access information at each address and adds £10 per applicable flight of stairs.
